Breathing technique to help you feel calm

My Yoga practice is an important part of my mental health toolkit. Even when my days are busy looking after young kids and staying on top of my work and household jobs, I always find some time to watch my breath and this helps me to calm my mind.

Breathing technique to help promote feeling calm

My favourite way to breathe mindfully is to inhale, then exhale and count one. I repeat this inhaling, exhaling and counting two, and go all the way up to ten and back down to one again. Often I lose track of the numbers and I just start at one again. But after two or three minutes of this, I feel more peaceful and at ease with myself.  Why not try it and let me know what you think.
